Day in Damascus

The 4th Saturday in July is reserved for our annual Day in Damascus. Hosted by the Damascus Civic Club, this community carnival is sponsored by many local businesses and includes a variety of fun games and activities for young and old alike.

Festival of Trees

Beginning in the first weekend of 2022, this annual 3-night event brings together our local businesses, organizations, and individuals to compete for the distinction of having the favorite Christmas tree. Each participant is given a 10′ x 10′ space to erect a canopy to house their entry; a tree no taller than 8′ to decorate as they choose. The event will be open from 6PM until 9PM nightly, and visitors will be given a ticket that they will place in a container at their favorite tree. Tickets will be counted on Sunday evening to determine the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners (prizes will be awarded, of course).

In addition to the display of trees, Santa will be on hand each evening to hear the childrens’ Christmas wishes, strolling carolers will add to the merriment, and there will be plenty of hot cocoa, hot apple cider, and loads of Christmas cookies.
